Planning College Graduation in Boston

There are more than 60 colleges and universities in the Boston area, which makes graduation time an especially festive time in the city. May rolls around and the next thing you know you see students dawning caps and gowns on just about every street corner.

College graduation season is one of the busiest times in Boston and Cambridge. Families are coming in from all over the country and the world to see their loved ones walk across the stage and receive their diploma.

Plan Ahead

  • Hotels: Where are you going to stay while in town? Hotels book up fast, so this is actually something you want to start thinking about at least six months in advance. If you want something more cozy, considering renting a home from HomeAway or a similar service.
  • Dinner: What’s a college graduation without a celebratory dinner? There are so many incredible restaurant options in Boston. If you have a larger group, you can also inquire about private rooms in the restaurant for your dinner. If you’re celebrating at your own home in the area, consider making it a more intimate affair with a catered meal.
  • Gifts: Besides the joy of receiving that diploma in hand, gifts are what college grads are really looking forward to. The Fini Concierge teams loves giving the gift of experiences – something like sailboat lessons, a guided tour through the rainforest or even something like a surf camp retreat.
  • Gift Certificate: If your grad is staying in the Boston area and could use the gift of time, consider a gift certificate to Fini Concierge. We recommend gifting a minimum of 4 hours, but gift certificates are available in any denomination.
