A Chocolate Lovers Guide to Boston

Boston and its surrounding communities are blessed with winning sports teams, world-renowned universities, and leaders in industry and business. Lucky for us, we are also blessed with incredible chocolate makers who sweeten our lives with their craft. Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, so we put together a list of our favorite chocolate shops in the Boston area.

L.A. Burdick, or “Burdick’s, sets a high standard in the area for handmade chocolates. With a shop and café off Newbury Street, you can eat and drink chocolate 7 days a week if you please! Their iconic chocolate mouse delights both children and adults.

Another Newbury spot coming all the way from Switzerland is Teuscher Chocolates. Enjoy their classic chocolate bars and their infamous champagne truffles that will leave you feeling bubbly.

Gaté Comme des Filles in Somerville produces small batches of highly coveted confections, in seasonal flavors such as rose-pink peppercorn, amarena cherry, and Somerville honey with walnut.

If you happen to be in East Boston, Petrova Chocolates is not to be missed. Their Valentine’s Day treats include Chocolate Heart Dessert Bars, a Sweetheart BonBon Collection, and even a chocolate teddy bear which is almost too cute to eat (key word: almost!)

In Brookline, you can find Serenade Chocolatier, which has great options for all chocolate lovers including your dairy-free and vegan loved ones. On their vegan menu, you will find the most beautiful Heart Shaped Chocolate Box and a 16-piece assortment box.

In the suburb of Wellesley, you can find ChocAllure which offers artsy, modern-looking bonbons and bars that come in flavors like hot chocolate and marshmallow; lemon meringue pie; mango, passionfruit, and hazelnut; and black forest. Their Valentine’s Day menu includes Strawberries & Champagne “Love” Bar, Carmel Dark Chocolate, Caramel Kisses Tasting Experience, and Chocolate x Pralińe Hearts.

For an over-the-top chocolate experience, stop by Beacon Hill Chocolate on Charles Street. These artisan chocolates are as beautiful as they are delicious.

One of the most successful chocolate companies in the area is Taza Chocolate. Known for their unique stone-ground style, you can find their chocolates in shops all over the city or visit their Somerville factory for a chocolate tour!

Finding the time to pick up a delicious treat for yourself or someone special in your life can sometimes be a challenge. If you find yourself with not enough time to stop by the best shops in town, send our personal shopping team with your shopping list.
